Combat time issue

My combat isn't working correctly and the timer keeps going back in forth on seconds. Like it keeps going back and forth from 1 to 0 seconds then will jump to 7 and 8 seconds, again flicking back and forth.  And the rat isn't appearing or being hit once it appears.
